Cousins at the Farm

This past weekend we were able to get together with Ben's cousin and her family. We always enjoy our time with them and now we've added even more fun as we have kids who are only 3 months apart. Throw into the mix a pumpkin-patch-with-fun-activities filled farm and you're sure to have a great time. Though we all agreed next year it's better to go later.

You see, we had been watching the weather to see if it was going to stay pretty for us and if the temps were going to be bearable. And when an overcast day is projected with temps in the 80s, you think you're going to be safe. Especially with a projected cool front headed your way.

Well, it didn't cooperate. The sun was out bright as can be with no cloud coverage to give relief.

However, we didn't allow it to dampen our spirits.

Zoë wasn't so into taking pictures as a family. This was the best we were able to get. I'm pretty sure she was already hating how hot it was. Also, note here my hair is down. The rest of the pictures, I kept it up. It was H-O-O-O-O-T!! We do live in Southern Texas. I shouldn't expect much else :/ It was just a bummer as we were supposed to have some great cloud coverage all day with it raining in the afternoon. Needless to say that didn't happen.

Look at her smirk. She cracks me up!

Trecking out to the pumpkin patch. We decided it'd be best to go out there first in hopes the kids would cooperate for pictures. We knew if we waited until the end, they would probably be done.

Yet again, Zoë just wasn't having it. Thankfully, it wasn't because ants were getting her. I sure had my fair share of ant bites from being out there.

I will say I was a bit bummed it's not a cut your own pumpkin patch. We're not sure if they grow them off site and bring them in or if it's just too stinkin' hot down here to grow pumpkins so they have to bring them in.

Look at my stinker! What a face :)

The best we were able to get of Zoë and mommy. I'm not sure why but we forgot to get one of Ben with her. The ants might have attacked. I don't remember though.

The farm also raises Christmas trees. Starting the weekend after Thanksgiving, you can go and cut down your own Christmas tree. They had some really pretty trees, but there were so many people milling around I didn't try to capture them.

Zoë and H checking out the flowers.

And romping around in the grass. They were in heaven!

Seriously, what kind of mischeif is she planning? I capture this face a lot, obviously.

This little man was headed straight for the tent support you see in my camera view. He walked right up to it and started making it spin. He got a good laugh out of it. So cute!

Little wagon riding buddies! So much fun they're the same age.

This pony really wanted to sniff Zoë. However, you're not supposed to pet the animals. I'm not really sure why. But, as soon as said pony was sticking it's nose through the fence Zoë let out a big, "WHOOOA!" I think it sort of surprised her and she has never seen such a nose. There was a donkey we pet before we knew we weren't supposed to. She thought the nose felt funny and tried to point out the Donkey's eye. Umm...actually she still tries to poke eyes out when she points to it and says "eye". We spared the Donkey such horror, though. She did love the donkey's ears. She got all excited from touching it :)

What is this weird nose sticking out at me?!

Walking with daddy past the duck pond.

They have these huge bouncing pillows. I would have gone but I was afraid I'd bounce Aubrey right out. Zoë went with Ben and they thoroughly enjoyed it. You can see here she's trying to jump by herself.

Look at that smile! Someone was in bouncing heaven!

All in all, we had a great time at the farm. They have a ton of stuff you can do for free and then activities like the bouncing pillows you can pay for. The fun part is many of them, including the bouncing pillows, are an all day pass once you pay for it. H and Zoë were a little young for many of the free activities this year, but we're pretty sure next year we may have munchkins who don't want to leave at all!

Our Weekend [4 Days Late...again - Ha!]

You guys, my brain won't stop spinning. There are some heavy topics on my heart and mind right now. But I'm still wading through them. Trying to decide whether to share or if they are for my heart alone at this time.

Since I'm unsure if I should wade those waters with everyone or just with God, I'm going to give a quick synapses of our Labor Day weekend. It was really nice. so cram packed with activities and people I didn't get a nap and I just realized how large the bags under my eyes were in my bumpdate picture for this week. We enjoyed ourselves, don't get me wrong, but there was a moment I woke up on the way home to Ben batting his eyes, so I slapped him. (Please understand, I don't walk around hitting my husband. This man sleeps like a log thus it was the only way I knew to get him to open and keep open his eyes.) Just sayin' - that sort of gives a picture of how busy and sleepy we were all weekend. (Ummm...Ben wasn't sleepy until he sat down, however, I almost fell asleep standing up a couple of times.)

Anyway...

I don't have a ton of pictures to share, because our camera was forgotten when we went to meet with friends Sunday for lunch and packed Sunday evening, again with friends, and then Monday when we were with Ben's family. However, I did capture Zoë's first time feeding the ducks:

That Goose...oh, that Goose! Thankfully all it did was hiss, but you better believe I would have tried to smack it if it came any closer.

I love that Zo-bug was able to experience baby ducks in her first feeding experience. So CUTE!

My precious sweet bug! She LOVED it so much!

Mama with her babies :)

Zoë with her Gigi and Daddy feeding the ducks.

Uncle Jacob is the best :) (I didn't get any with Aunt Laura. BOO!! :( ) They pointed to ducks. Zoë wanted to get in the water too! Ha!

Attempting to wriggle out of his arms for a dip. See those rosy cheeks? It was H-O-T!!

We laughed when we first got to the lake because before we could get out, the ducks were waddling to our car. Our car, you guys! They know what people mean. HAHA!

The rest of Saturday was spent with some of my side of the family. I was so glad to be able to see my Great Uncle and Aunt as well as my Grandmother. I unfortunately forgot the camera while they were there so I didn't get any pics of Zoë with her Great-Great Uncle & Aunt or her Great-Grandmother. :/

Zoë did have plenty of time to experiment with climbing stairs. By the time nap time was coming around on Saturday (so all of a half-day, mind you), she had figured out how to get up to the 3rd step.

She decided one of her shoes needed to be up a step :)

However, by the time she reached that step, she'd also realized just how sleepy she was and figured she might rest her head a little:

My cutie patootie

The rest of our afternoon was spent taking Zoë outside, hanging out, eating Cane's (YAY! The closest one here is about 30 minutes away, BOO!), and playing Settlers of Catan. (If you've never played, it seriously is one of the best games ever!) I did happen to catch a quick snapshot of my brother with his niece :)

Ride a horsy, ride a horsy, ride to town....

We also saw a frog while we were playing settlers. I'm not sure why, but I think frogs (not toads, please do not get those confused. Toads are gross.) are so stinkin' cool!

I have to say the weird capture of my reflection added a unique touch to this photo. Ha!

Laura, my sister, tried to catch it, but it was a fast frog :( No froggy capture for us.

Sunday we spent time with some of Ben's best friends, people he's remained friends with from High School. We enjoyed our time, headed back to my parent's for a quick nap, and the packed up to go hang out with more friends.

I have to say as great as Sunday evening was with our friends, it made me really sad that we had to leave our small group. I loved the small group we had back in Baton Rouge. Such a great group of genuine, Christ-seeking people. I have hope to find such here, we're already making connections, but I just was reminded of what we already had and were building that we have to rebuild here.

You guys, I had been in Baton Rouge a little over 4 years to get to that point. Relationships, especially Christ-centered and edifying ones, don't just happen over night. They take time. Lots and lots and lots of TIME. *sigh* I digress.

After group we headed to Ben's parents house where we spent some time with his parents and older sister before bed. (Ben's brother-in-law wasn't able to be there due to being on call for his job that weekend.) By 9 we hit the sack. Ben and I were both suffering from horrible allergies and had taken Benadryl. I don't think you could have woke Ben if the house was burning down. And it took me hearing a baby crying for a while before I bolted, with heart racing, wondering if I had missed my child crying for a while. (Zo-bug was has been teething for a while now and that night was no different. Poor baby :( )

Monday was spent getting ready, letting the kids play, and then we headed out to meet Ben's Aunts for lunch at Cracker Barrel. I'm not a huge fan, but I figured since that's where they picked and they had a wide variety of food, it would allow everyone to order something they liked. Though our time with them was short, we really enjoyed the time we were able to spend with them.

Sort of off topic, I wish I would have remembered to snap a picture of the adorable bag one of Ben's Aunts embroidered for Zoë. I would totally have her embroider stuff for the next baby if we didn't live so far away. I may still considering I know I will get great work from her. If you live in the Baton Rouge area, I would totally recommend her. Feel free to contact me and I can give you her e-mail she uses to be in touch with clients.

All in all, it was a weekend full of memories even though I am still catching up on sleep. Ha! Our time was definitely worth it.

An Enjoyable Weekend

So I had to post about this weekend. Mainly because my mom came into town and we really enjoyed ourselves.

Friday night was low key. We went and tried out a mexican restaurant that recently opened down the way. The owner seems to be a professed Christian as scripture is everywhere. (Even on the towing sign, you guys! I wish I had a phone that takes good pics! Ha!)

Zoë was so excited her Gigi was here and kept saying it all afternoon and then kept asking her to do stuff with her while she was here. (I must make note: Zoë's version of "Gigi" is this mouth closed version because she can't say a soft "g" sound, only a hard "g".) Of course, Gigi spoke Zoë's love language by bringing her a book; it happened to be her very first Curious George book.
Gigi being an elephant. Zoë had joined in but moves a little too quickly for me to capture it. There were elephants at the zoo, of course!

Saturday we ran to some stores my mom wanted to stop at. We happened to pick up Zoë's very first step stool. I think it's so stinking cute! She won't really use it much yet, but as she's starting to show an interest in where we go to the bathroom and wanting to wash her hands (mostly because of the BUBBLES!), we went ahead and bought one. I love it sheerly because it fits right next to the toilet, but if we want it folds in half, practically flat, and she'll be able to carry it by the time she's 3 or 4 to anywhere she needs it very easily.

While we were out, my mom and Ben enjoyed doing this Bungee jump thing at the mall. Zoë laughed while they went up and down and Daddy looked like he was going to hit the ceiling. Poor dear wanted to get on once they were done :( She loves to bounce. (Does me telling you that she's always jumping in her crib when we go to get her in the morning or from a nap say anything to you?)

Zoë also showed us just how much she is loving her new found confidence in walking as she will walk anywhere we are, not just at home. She walked through most of the Katy Mills Mall without tiring! Of course, she napped really hard as soon as we got in the car. Didn't even wake up when we ran into TJ Maxx for a minute or once we arrived home!

The rest of our Saturday was spent hanging out, eating an early dinner at Johnny Carino's (I think I could gain several pounds from eating too much of their bread. OMG!), and watching "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" with my mom. She's currently going through the entire series on movie so it was fun to watch it with her as we're both avid Harry Potter fans. I don't think she's ever read the books, but maybe we can convince her too. :)

Though my mom had to leave around 10 on Sunday, she didn't leave without having some fun dancing with Zoë! Zoë got all divafied with some sunglasses Ben brought home from his works lost & found. (They'd been there since before Ben has been managing the store, which is coming up on a year.)

Then they danced around the living room for a bit:

(Pardon the blurry/fuzziness. My manual mode is messed up on my point&shoot, thus this is how movement is captured :/)

Zoë didn't stop asking for "Gigi" once she was gone. Made my heart sad that we don't live somewhere my mom can be more involved. Though she doesn't understand that Gigi had to go home yet, I think it's going to make it even harder when my mom leaves because she'll really get that it will be a while before she sees her again.

We all enjoyed our time with my mom/Gigi!

A Low-key Weekend

Well, I'm not sure I napped enough, but that being said, I know that I took several naps off and on all weekend. And it was glorious.

To say I needed a low-key weekend after hosting my parents and then my in-laws is an understatement.

Not that we didn't enjoy our time with them. I just drain my batteries even when I'm spending time with people I enjoy spending time with.

Anyone else understand my sentiments here?

Friday started like all the others, willing myself out of bed so that we could eat breakfast and greet the new day.

But, for the first time, and hopefully not the last, we went to a play group one of the gals from church had told me about. Though Zoë is "behind" the other kids in that she's still not walking, she seemed to enjoy all the mayhem around her while she found toys to entertain herself. Not a complaint was heard from her little mouth, while I thoroughly enjoyed meeting new faces and getting to know a few people I've met better.

The exciting part of this is that they meet weekly, pretty much. And so hopefully, we will begin making connections through some of the people here and building friendships.

Another place to connect. Yay!

Friday afternoon and evening was spent relaxing around the home, enjoying one another's company, and watching How to Train Your Dragon. Ben was ready to watch it, as it was his Father's Day gift, and we'd yet to watch it.

To say that we love animated movies around here is likely a gross understatement.

It was nice to "sleep in" Saturday morning, as Zoë slept until almost 7 because Ben wasn't rummaging around getting ready for work. I'm certain that I was not blessed with the deepest of sleepers when it comes to children. She did not get her father's genetics here. I've never been able to sneak in on her during naps, never know if she'll wake if I have to go in her room at night, and certainly know that she wakes early in the morning because of Ben getting up and moving around.

Saturday was a mostly lazy day where we watched as Zoë continually took more and more steps on her own, read books to her, and likely the same one 1405398 times, and tried to get her to laugh. Or really, she was trying to get us to laugh. She's a clown, I tell you. She loves getting people to smile.

She also is in the phase where she wants everyone around her to mimic her. Fun times.

Saturday afternoon we went on our weekly grocery shopping trip. Though I used to go in the middle of the week, it somehow started falling on the weekend, and Ben really likes going grocery shopping together so I don't object. I'm certainly no fan of the grocery shopping so it's nice to have someone with me.

Saturday night we went on a home date, which is almost always what happens right now because they are the cheapest :) We enjoyed yummy Chick-fil-a sandwiches and rented Oz the Great and Powerful.

To be honest, I wasn't impressed. If you follow me on twitter you might have already seen that I wasn't impressed. The acting wasn't bad, the story didn't capture me though. It was also highly predictable which was not made up for in other areas of the movie. I mean, most of us know Dorothy's story from The Wizard of Oz and many of us have seen the Broadway musical Wicked, or read the book. There isn't too much we don't already know. And so I feel that better be covered for in other areas of the story.

But it was lacking. So much so that I picked up my iPad forty minutes in and started fiddling around on it.

Then there was Sunday. The day that I love because I know that I'm generally guaranteed at least a 2 hour nap and we have church in the morning. Though I'd be lying if I said that I was more excited about church than the nap this weekend. It's just the way things happen sometimes.

I did really enjoy the message our pastor spoke on this Sunday - he delved into how a critical spirit can quickly kill everything around it. Ouch! It definitely was convicting, but in a way that was also very uplifting. I certainly walked away with a lot to think about in hopes of keeping my heart in a good place.

We then came home, ate lunch, and napped.

We also finally purchased Zo bug a life vest, which we've desperately needed. I've started fearing for her life in the pool because she starts thrashing and trying to get out of our arms. A little nerve wracking for me to say the least. Hoping that the life vest will help keep her face up and enjoy the water a little more freely.

Oh and in other news, she is now forward facing in her car seat. Her poor little legs were all squished up against the seat that I just couldn't hold out until 18 months. I know the new AAP guidelines suggest waiting until 2 years, but I'm not so sure I'd have been able to take her anywhere if we'd waited that long. Ben and I discussed it, and considering she meets the requirements for forward facing in her seat, we agreed that she was stable enough to ride forward. Her seat also has an intermediate reclining position for forward facing. Yay!

All in all, we had a wonderful, low-key weekend. One much needed around here.

Hope your weekend was enjoyable too!

Our Wonderful Weekend

Good morning! (Many times I wonder how I can write such a greeting, and though I know it might be through messy hair and a tired-I-just-woke-up voice, I am reminded that I have every reason to smile every day - my Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow!)

And so I'll say it again, GOOD MORNING! (Yep. That was a bit more chipper.)

I know I tend to disappear from the world of social media and my blog whenever guests are in town. And last week was no exception.

Thankfully, I wrote my post for my Praying for Him series before my mom made it into town last Wednesday, because from Wednesday through yesterday, we were busy roaming TJ Maxx, Target, and avoiding the heat as best we could. I also had a helper when it came to Zoë's 15 month check up. (Yes, I have yet to write that post. I haven't even taken her 15 month pics. *sigh* Hoping to do that this week.)

By the time Friday rolled around, we were enjoying one another's company and added my dad to the mix.

Zoë had already been thoroughly entertained by my mom as she blow dried her hair.

I mean can you not see her steady gaze as she's enthralled by only God knows what with that device. This isn't the first time she has come rapidly crawling whenever she hears it turn on.

She also found many giggles while she delighted in this little guy:

I thoroughly understand her excitement. We all enjoyed having Cody around the house. It sort of fixes my fur baby desires. Sort of.

Whenever we arrived home, this was always the scene to unfold:

I'm not so sure Cody was as much a fan of it as Zoë was. It seemed to elicit giggles. Every. time. While Cody incessantly whined until we released him from his torture chamber. (This dog was not kennel trained. He thinks he's in prison.) Please don't think we left him in there for any long amount of time. It only takes the .0000001 sec for you to put a toe across the threshold of your doorway for him to begin the whining.

Of course, Friday was full of laughs and giggles to be had by all. Which could only mean one thing: a demon would be possessing Zoë on Saturday which was overloaded by whines, tears, and "I want my way" temper tantrums. (We are rapidly getting full swing into toddler hood.) However, an afternoon nap seemed to fix most of that and we enjoyed lounging around while Zoë happily pushed her new walker around the apartment. (You guys, I don't know why we didn't invest in one sooner!)

Somewhere in there my dad fell asleep on the couch (note: this is nothing new. He falls asleep at the drop of a pin.) Normally, this doesn't provide for laughs. However, I'm pretty sure you'd have been laughing too. See for yourself.

I don't know what the rest of us were doing when mom noticed this, but we all died laughing. Normally, Cody will find a spot to cuddle up next to dad while he's sleeping, but for whatever reason, this day he decided it'd be a great idea to sit on my dad's head. Dad had no idea until we showed him the pictures.

We ended the weekend with singing happy birthday to my mom. Dad, who always finds a fun way to spruce up events like this found a sparkler candle. My mom was elated! It was great seeing her smile as we sang to her.

Oh, and of course, Zoë had to start some kind of mischief before my parents left this weekend.

That face. Oh, that face! It looks like a mix of "I didn't do it" and "I can't believe you caught me." Thankfully, none of them busted. No caffeine rush for Zoë today!

We all thoroughly enjoyed our time with them. Though originally we had planned to be by ourselves for Father's Day, it was nice to spend some time with my parents.

Ben and I ended it by watching The Amazing Spider-man. SO GOOD! I was thoroughly surprised and had a few questions about the story because all I know of Spider-man is the movies with Toby McGuire. I loved this one. It's such a good movie all the way around. And according to Ben, it's much more true to the storyline from the comic. (Fail for the night: I called it a graphic novel. Ha! This is obviously not my area of nerdom.)

It was a nice wrap to a nice week/weekend.

This Weekend, I... [v. 3]

Wow!

Life has been a whirlwind around these parts with guests coming and going over the past 3 weekends. Let me say as much as I love the company, I'm loving having my home back to myself. My hermit-tendancies-self has missed being able to sit in quiet.

I'm pretty sure that my husband's job going haywire last week due to one of his employees quitting hasn't helped the lot. Though let me be clear, I am not complaining about the lengthening of his hours. I don't like it, but it is nothing compared to what we left back in Baton Rouge. I am grateful he has a job that still generally gets him home at a decent time and will not always require weekend hours. I am grateful for him because what we left in Baton Rouge was two jobs with over 60 hours every week. What he has here may occasionally boost him over 60 hours in a week, but it isn't the norm and as such he isn't as sleepy as he used to be. (Let's be honest here, the man could fall asleep anywhere at anytime of the day. Drive me crazy? You betcha! But we've learned to laugh about it. Because he really could fall asleep on concrete if he didn't have something occupying him.)

Anyway, on to...

This weekend, we visited with my mom/Gigi. Let's just say Zoë loves her Gigi. She was cheesing it and laughing. Hugging her. No kisses were given but she wasn't giving me kisses this weekend either.

This weekend, I went shopping with my mom at T.J. Maxx and IKEA. Mom wanted to visit IKEA since she had never been. She wasn't too impressed with it, though there was some stuff she enjoyed. We both had fun at T.J. Maxx and I was thrilled to find a dress for my little sister's wedding. I had ordered a dress from Target, but when I tried it on...well, let's just say it didn't hang on my frame well and looked not so great.

This weekend, I had very few photo ops of my mom with Zoë, but I did capture them playing together. Not the best shot, but still one for keeping the memory.

This weekend, we (re)visited one of the churches we've really liked. It was so nice to actually go to church after having not been for three weeks. (I was sick, then Ben's parents were in town, and then my little sister and her fiancé.) My mom left Sunday morning before church so we were able to go. The great part about it is I've really felt like that church could be our home church here. I hadn't said much to Ben because I wanted both of us to be following the Spirit's leading and I also wanted to be sensitive to following Ben's lead. When we were driving home I was asking him what his thoughts were on our "church search" process. We had a great conversation that ultimately ended in we both felt like God wants us to join that church. YAY! I'm still rejoicing in knowing there is a place God wants us to plug into for equipping and finding areas to serve both in the church and in our community.

This weekend, we decided to apply for a ministry opportunity called ApartmentLife (I'm going to call it AL). We both feel that even if God calls us to long-term, overseas missions at some point, spreading the gospel doesn't need to wait. We heard about AL through the CARES team here at our complex. Though being a CARES team isn't necessary for witnessing and building relaltionships, it is a great opportunity to meet many of the people in our apartment complex that we might not meet otherwise.

That about wraps up our weekend.

Hope everyone has had an enjoyable Monday so far!

The Weekend...A Little Late

Oi...

Life over here just seems to be letting me float right along with it. And when I float, I frequently don't sit in front of a computer typing. Though I dream posts up in my head.

Well...

...parts of posts :)

But this one, yes, this one has been in my head for several days, so it's got to be wrote.

(Yes, I'm purposefully wrote the last sentence like that. Don't know what got in me, but it did and I'm liking it. So yeah :) )

Anyway, we have had a influx of visitors over the past few weeks. First it was Paw Paw and Honey. Then my mom is coming in to town this tomorrow for the weekend.

But this past weekend, my little sis and her fiancé came to town.

And we had fun :)

They arrived early evening Friday. We sat around and talked. Which with us, always involves good times.

Then Saturday we headed out to George Bush Park. Oh I am in LOVE with that park! It has a wonderful playground for kids. And it is surrounded by acres of land. Seriously. They have a 10 mile hiking/walking trail that extends out into all parts of the city. And the playground is surrounded by open fields which makes for great...

...kite flying weather. (Look at how serious Ben is about that kite flying. My nerd :) )

It didn't turn out to be as sunny as we thought it would be (or warm), but we enjoyed ourselves none the less.

Zoë and Auntie Laura watching the boys work on getting the kite in the air. Make my heart happy.

Zoë was way too distracted to look at the camer...

...the soccer ball was more interesting.

Unfortunately Zoë didn't look as excited as she seemed about going down the slide with Aunt Laura.

She LOVED riding on Uncle Jacob's shoulders while he kicked the soccer ball.

The best I could get of the three of them. She loves her Uncle Jacob & Aunt Laura!

After the park, we decided it'd be fun to try out one of the free art museums in Houston's down town area. However, the Contemporary Art museum was chosen, and Ben didn't realize we didn't know what that would mean. So we were completely unprepared. You guys, my stomach still churns and heart still fills with empathy for the emptiness of it all. It was so so void of purpose. And some of it was straight up gross. I'm pretty sure we left in less than 30 minutes. Some people may not understand, I know my husband didn't leave with the same nausea and heart ache that I did. But I just can't look at stuff like that.

Saturday evening we went to Fazoli's. It was funny to see Jacob's reaction to it as he had never been before and because Laura had built it up so much, he thought it was going to be a bit different than what it was. Let me give you the back story here: our family used to go to Fazoli's for lunch almost every Sunday. And I say almost because if it wasn't Fazoli's it was Mexican. (We like our carbs people. Don't hate, ok?) Anyway, Fazoli's, for those of you who don't know, is a fast food italian joint with the. best. breadsticks. E.V.E.R! Hands down! And their dishes are decent for fast food. So of course, Laura talked about how great it is. And it is. But how she talked about it made Jacob think we were going to a nice, sit down restaurant. (Similar to Olive Garden or Bravo!.)

Oh how yummy are those breadsticks! And even Zoë, the carb refusing baby, loved them.

Sunday we went to the Houston Children's Museum, which was a lot of fun. I think I had the hardest time enjoying it since I put Zoë in a carrier to put her at eye level with everything I did. I can't wait to go back and try out the Tot zone. Looked like something Zoë will love. However, it was ridiculously crowded so we opted to not go in there. I hope that wherever we live has a great children's museum because I could see myself going with my kids on a regular basis as long as we have one. A healthy, mind-growing, fun activity!

The rest of the day we just enjoyed one another's company. Played scrabble. Just had a good time hanging out. Oh and we consumed a batch of cookie dough. Both in dough and cookie form :)

I'm pretty sure Laura and I stayed up every night until at least midnight talking. It was like the good old days of sharing a room and a bed.

Zoë decided it would be a great time to become a full time crawler while they were here. It was really weird to realize that in the blink of an eye she had pretty much quit scooting and was crawling to everything.

All in all, we had a wonderful weekend.

The week just came way too fast and Monday night greeted me with a night full of no sleep as Zoë's teeth (at least, that's my guess) bothered her all night despite ibuprofen or tylenol.

And thus, here I am on Wednesday filling you in on our weekend.

Hope your week didn't start off with the bang mine did!
